Though Thailand is by now considered a Country with medium income and is no longer appears, for about a decade, among the list of Countries on which activities of development cooperation are focused, several projects at both bilateral and regional level remain going on.
The European Union maintains for many years the stable and fruitful relations with Thailand with which it is the first commercial partner. Although there is no bilateral economic agreement, the basis of the European presence in Thailand is represented by the cooperation document between the EU and the ASEAN, drafted in 1980.
The strategies of EU-Thailand bilateral cooperation emphasize on technical assistance and capacity-building in trade and investment sectors.
The Italian Cooperation carries out specific activities, especially in social sector.
