Born in Paris, France, on February 19th, 1953. In November 20th, 1978, graduated in Political Sciences at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome.

CURRICULUM VITAE 

• August 1st 1981, enters the diplomatic career and is nominated Volunteer.
• August 1981, attends the professional courses at the Diplomatic Studies Institute.
• August 1981, assigned at the Information and Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
• March 1982, is nominated Legation Secretary.
• April 1983, assigned at the General Direction of Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy. 
• October 1984, Second Secretary in Tel Aviv (Israel).
• February 1986, nominated First Legation Secretary, continues his functions in Tel Aviv with the position of First Commercial Secretary.
• January 1989, First Secretary for Migration and Social Affairs in Berna (Switzerland).
• January 1991, Commercial Counselor in Tokyo (Japan).
• May 1991, nominated Legation Counselor.
• April 1993, at the General Direction for Cooperation and Development at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
• 1993/1994, attends the superior professional courses at the Diplomatic Studies Institute. December 1994, continues at the General Direction for Cooperation and Development at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
• July 1997, nominated Embassy Counselor.
• July 1997, Head of the Third Office of the General Direction for Cooperation and Development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
• September 1998, First Counselor in Washington (United States).
• May 2002, Head of the Third Office of the General Direction for the Mediterranean Countries and Middle East of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
• January 2004, nominated Plenipotentiary Minister.
• July 2004, Coordinator of the “Task Force Irak” at the General Direction for the Mediterranean Countries and Middle East of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy. 
• October 2005, nominated Vice Director General for the Subsaharian African Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
• February 7th, 2007, is designated as Ambassador of Italy in Venezuela, and non-resident Ambassador of Italy for Barbados, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Dominica, Guyana, Suriname and Trinidad & Tobago.

- Honored “Cavaliere Ufficiale” of the Order to the Merit of the Italian Republic, 2000.
- He is married to Loredana Riccardo and has a son.
