Catholic University of Milano, Law Degree - 1965
Ph.D. and Professorship in International Law at the Catholic University of Milano - 1971 (and professor in international law at the same University and at the Universities of Genova, Trieste and Munich). 

• 1967 - Joins the Italian Foreign Service
    
• 1969 - At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Political Department
    
• 1970 - At the Representation of Italy to the United Nations
    
• 1971 - Consul in Vienna
    
• 1975 - Counsellor at the Italian Embassy in Tunis
   
• 1979 - Detached to the Secretariat of the President of the Italian Republic, Diplomatic Counsellor's Office
   
• 1985 - Deputy Director and then Director of the Diplomatic Institute
   
• 1991 - Extraordinary Envoy and Minister Plenipotentiary
    
• 1994 - Consul-General 1st Class in Munich
    
• 1999 - Ambassador of Italy in Norway and Iceland
   
• 2003 - At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department for European Countries to coordinate the protection and the issues of Italian minorities abroad and of foreign minorities in Italy, as well as other issues and the relations with the Countries of the Area, and the Mixed Commissions with Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Croazia, etc.
