
Massimo LAVEZZO CASSINELLI

Born in Lavagna (Genova), 3 April 1957.
Graduated in Political Sciences in 1979 at the University of Genova.
He enters the diplomatic career on 1 July 1982 and is assigned to the General Department of Economic Affairs.
In 1985 he is appointed to the Italian Embassy in Quito as Second Secretary. In 1989 he is seconded to the Italian embassy in Amman as First Secretary.
In 1991 he is once more in South America, appointed as Counsellor to the Embassy in Lima.
In 1993 he is back to the Foreign Office, working at the Department of Economic Affairs.
In 1996 he becomes Counsellor and is assigned to the Embassy in Cairo. In 1999 he is appointed Consul in Berna.
In 2001, back to the Foreign Office, he is Deputy Head of Communications and Criptography.
He subsequently works at the General Department for Italians Abroad and Migration Policies (2002-2003) and at the Legal Department (2003-2004).
In 2004 he is First Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Italy by the UN in Rome.
In 2007 he is appointed Ambassador of Italy in Armenia.
Mr. Lavezzo has been awarded with the title of “Cavaliere Ufficiale dell'Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana” and has the rank of lieutenant in the Customs and Excise Police Corp.
