The Armenian jurisdictional framework has been facilitating and enhancing bilateral economic and trading relations since October 2004, when, on the occasion of the visit to Armenia of the Italian Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Boniver a Joint Statement for Economic Co-operation was signed. The agreement was then followed up by a Memorandum of Understanding on Medium and Small Enterprises during the official visit of the Armenian President Kocharian to Italy in January 2005. Alongside this event, the Italian Institute for Trade set up a country presentation of Armenia in its main building in Rome.
