The first Italian Ambassador in Yerevan was Giacomo Gorrini, after the First World War until the annexation of Armenia to the Soviet Union.  

The diplomatic relations between Italy and Armenia had been re-established after the collapse of the Soviet Union on May 12, 1993.

Since that, 5 6 Ambassadors have succeeded one another, 3 of them residence in Moscow and the other 2 (after the opening of an Embassy in Yerevan) with residence in Armenia.

The current Ambassador is Massimo LAVEZZO CASSINELLI.
