Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini in London

30/07/2008 - Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini met his British counterpart, Foreign Secretary David Miliband MP, with whom he held talks on European and global issues. Among the main themes discussed were: the G8, also in view of the Italian Presidency in 2009, the upcoming Olympic Games in China, where Frattini will represent Italy, and the Iranian nuclear dossier.

The meeting with Foreign Secretary Miliband took place as Minister Frattini returned from Washington, where he had met one day earlier with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.The meeting was followed by a working lunch and a joint press conference, attended by the British and Italian press.

Minister Frattini also gave an interview to Stephen Sackur for the programme BBC-HardTalk and had a talk with Charles Grant, Director of the Centre for European Reform.
