Meeting with the T.A.I. non-profit organisation – Italian Association of Thalidomide victims – at the Embassy of Italy

03/04/2008 - The Italian Thalidomide Association (T.A.I. Onlus) had a meeting at the Italian Embassy on the occasion of a protest campaign organised in London by the ICTA (International Contergan Thalidomide Alliance).

The President of T.A.I., Nadia Malavasi, outlined the legislative acts that were introduced in Italy, originating from law 27 /2006, which legally recognised this pathology, and wished for a prompt implementation of the law.

T.A.I. Onlus is an association founded in 2004. One of its main goals is to obtain legal recognition and safeguard for people who were born with disabilities in Italy, prevalently between 1958 and 1962, as a result of the assumption of pharmaceuticals containing Thalidomide, during pregnancy.
