Auto industry

There is no local production of automobiles or industrial vehicles in Zambia. All of them are imported - mainly from Japan. From the 60s to the 80s, a local firm, “Livingstone Motor Assembly”, produced vehicles under a FIAT licence. Recently, a Zambian company has started assembling TATA (an Indian company) commercial vehicles in Ndola.
