Textile

The production of cotton is slowly increasing. In the 2004/2005 agricultural season it has recorded 155.000 tons. The cultivated area has increased by 45% compared to the previous farming season. Almost the entire production is exported. Zambian textile industry, in fact, suffers the massive imports of clothing from the Asian countries as well as the imports of second hand clothes from western countries.
