Prior to his appointment as Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Mozambique, Carlo Lo Cascio served as Minister-Counsellor at the Embassy of Italy in Belgrade from January 2005 to April 2008.
From 2001 to 2004, he served as Deputy Head of NATO Department at the Directorate General for Political Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1997 to 2001, he was posted as Deputy Head of Mission to the Embassy of Italy in Sarajevo. In 2000, he was promoted Counsellor.
In 1994, he was assigned to the Economic Department of the Embassy of Italy in Bonn.
Ambassador Lo Cascio joined the diplomatic service in 1990 and began his career by serving in the Directorate General for Development. Born in Palermo, on September 30 1963, Carlo Lo Cascio graduated in Law at the State University of Palermo. Married, two children.
