
Agreements
Italy and South Africa have signed the following bilateral Agreements:
- Convention against Double Taxation, both in terms of tax returns and also to prevent tax evasions, with an additional Protocol, signed in Rome on 16.11.1995. Currently in force;
- Agreement on the matter of Promotions and Protection of Investments, signed in Rome on 9 June 1997. Currently in force;
- Agreement of Cooperation regarding Defence and Defence equipment, signed in Rome on 10.07.1997. Currently in force;
- Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation, signed in Pretoria on 15.1.1998. Currently in force;
- Technical Cooperation Agreement signed in Pretoria on 15.01.1998. Currently in force;
- Technical Agreement between the General Secretariat of Defence and the National Administration of Weapons (Republic Italy) and ARMSCOR (Republic of South Africa) for the provision of government services for Quality Assurance, with 4 Annexures, signed in Pretoria on 19 November 1998;
- Agreement of Cooperation in the Transports sector, signed in Rome on 27..01.1998; in force since 29.11.2000.
- Agreement for Cooperation in the fields of Arts, Culture, Education and Sport: signed on 13 March 2002 in Cape Town. Currently in force;
- “Endorsement of the Cape Town Declaration on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development”. Signed in Cape Town on 13 March 2002.
- “Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Italian Republic and the Government of the Republic of South Africa in the field of Health in Gauteng Province”. Signed in Cape Town on 13 March 2002.
- Agreement on Cinematographic Co-production, signed in Cape Town on 13 November 2003.
