Strategic Plan of Objective of SIDCO
Current representation of Italian businesses within the Saudi market is limited to a minor element of the oil and gas and contracting sectors.  The Service Company’s aim is to promote business activities and facilitate technology and know-how transfer of Italian SME’s to the Saudi Arabian market.  Since the main objective of the Service Company is to foster economic relations between the two countries, investment into the Service Company itself would benefit the potential investors more in terms of gaining a direct access to their Italian counterparts.  Such an investment is not envisaged to yield substantial financial returns since the main source of income for the Holding Company is expected to be a percentage commission on the successful implementation of joint venture contracts.  Investors would, however, acquire financial gains out of the expected future joint venture projects.

Activities
The Service Company would be involved in the following activities:
Scouting Services
Scouting services represent the core main activities of the Service Company.  Such services would relate not only to identifying potential joint venture possibilities but also providing assistance to interested potential Saudi and Italian investors in reaching a joint venture agreement.  The assistance would be in the form of SIMEST carrying out feasibility, market and technical studies on behalf of the proposed joint ventures.
Consulting Services
SIMEST has a proven track record of providing consultancy services with respect to debt restructuring in liason with International banks.  Based on SIMEST’s experience, the Service Company would be assisting potential Saudi investors interested in debt restructuring projects around the world.  In addition, it is expected that the Service Company would also be providing assistance to Italian entities in Saudi government tenders and other public relation activities.
Incubator Services
These mainly represent the provision of a single platform where academic professionals will liase with the industry and develop ideas for the improvement of technology in the hi-tech sector.  The Service Company will be providing such services by promoting international incubators specialized in the development and improvement of existing technologies currently being utilized in SME’s.

Organizational Structure
The operations of the Service Company is managed by the Managing Director appointed by the shareholders of the Service Company.  Dr. Cesare Orlandini del Beccuto has already been nominated for the position.  With over 40 years of financial sector experience, including 32 years specifically in investment consulting, Dr. Orlandini  bring a wide breath of knowledge and experience to the Service Company.  Since 1995, Dr. Orlandini has been specifically involved in promoting joint ventures and has amassed a portfolio or business relations both Italian and international.  Dr. Orlandini has already established significant high profile contacts within the Saudi government as well as the private business community.
