Communique'

22/11/2005 - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy is carrying out an operation of data verification which concerns the Italian citizens residing abroad whose name are present only in the Registry of Italians Abroad (AIRE) or only in the consular lists.
These citizens have received a letter with a form for the verification of their data and the indication that the deadline for sending back the form is September,30,2005.
The Consular offices will accept also the forms arrived after the above mentioned deadline, but only if the form is sent in a reasonable time.
In fact the Consular offices, once they get the forms, shall perform a long series of administrative operations. In order to process all the forms, it is necessary therefore for the Consular offices to receive back the forms as soon as possible.
If the Consular offices do not receive a response or they receive it too late, there is the possibility that the names of the persons concerned will be cancelled from the registry.
